Celebrating leadership at Tougaloo.

Canton-Madison (MS) Alumni Chapter's relationship with Tougaloo College extends from undergraduate advising to supporting leadership, education, and institutional impact. In August 2026, the Canton-Madison (MS) Alumni Chapter, in partnership with the Jackson Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., hosted a reception honoring Dr. Corey Wiggins, Tougaloo College's 15th President.

Undergraduate Leadership

Advising Gamma Rho at Tougaloo College.

As the advising alumni chapter for the Gamma Rho Undergraduate Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. at Tougaloo College, the chapter provides mentorship, fraternity guidance, leadership development, and support to undergraduate brothers as they grow in achievement and service.

This relationship connects collegiate and alumni Kappas while helping strengthen the next generation of fraternity leadership.

Scholarship Impact

$4,500 awarded to the Class of 2026.

During the 2025–2026 school year, the chapter awarded seven scholarships to graduating seniors through the Earl B. Dickerson Scholarship and the Canton-Madison Alumni Chapter Scholarship.

Atty. Earl B. Dickerson Scholarship

$2,000 total: $2,000 to one recipient or $1,000 each to two recipients.

  • Graduating male senior of a Madison County high school.
  • Minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA on a 4.00 scale, with transcript verification.
  • Plan to enroll at an accredited 4-year college or university the year following graduation, with a college acceptance letter.

Canton-Madison Alumni Chapter Scholarship

$2,500 total: $500 each to one recipient from each of five high schools.

  • One graduating male senior from each of Canton, Germantown, Madison Central, Ridgeland, and Velma Jackson High Schools.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA on a 4.00 scale, with transcript verification.
  • Plan to enroll at an accredited 2-year community college or an accredited 4-year college or university the year following graduation, with a college acceptance letter.
